The hosts lost by 10 runs in a high-scoring match which saw some brilliant batting performances by both teams. Albie Morkel played a fighting knock of 71, but could not stop the Royals' victory.

Rajasthan batted first on a belter of a wicket, and their pint sized opener Swapnil Asnodkar once again came to the party. Asnodkar made a whirlwind 41 runs in 27 balls, studded with four fours and two sixes. His partner Graeme Smith was not be left behind, and in fact, the South African overtook the Goan with some blazing shots.
